Design

For assembly, manufacturing feasibility and fitness for purpose, our design engineers work closely with OEMs in developing their products.

Using project management capabilities, our team can deliver continuous improvements and lean manufacturing, provide full sample approval processes and timing plans, and offer savings through improved productivity.

But that’s only the start. Thermal Management Solutions Group’s highly efficient design and development service is made up of other key components such as in-house CAD systems, laboratory facilities in each of our manufacturing locations, CMM measurement and data transfer. We also offer physical prototype part manufacture, simulation and analysis tools, prototype plastic injection moulding and 3D printing capabilities. When it comes to design, we’ve got it covered.

Simulation

When it comes to simulation, Thermal Management Solutions Group offers many resources to our automotive customers. From computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to enable thermal modelling, to f analysis (FEA), analysing and solving heat transfer issues. Moldflow simulation of the temperatures experienced during an injection moulding process. Fully integrated tolerance analysis and more.

Our laboratories are fully-equipped and ready to help you. Research and simulation isn’t just smart, it’s both prudent and valuable.

Prototyping

As well as software simulations, the Thermal Management Solutions Group team can offer physical prototypes. Here at our laboratories, we solve thermal problems with structural models designed to predict stresses and expansion & contraction. Our machinery and infrastructure involved compares, contrasts and evaluates energy generation and conversion, equipment and more.

3D printing is another important area we can help our customers to solve problems that arise. Thermal Management Solutions Group is fully equipped to offer fast and accurate 3D models and parts.

Testing

With unrivalled laboratory and validation facilities, Thermal Management Solutions Group is perfectly placed to offer physical testing to the automotive industry, and all to reassuring industry-standard temperature range.

It means that, when manufacturing thermostat and associated elements, we ensure each product undergoes extensive physical testing and validation. Only then are they ready to supply

It’s all part of our commitment to physical evaluation and innovation. Safety critical parts and assemblies are assured each and every time.

In-house Tool Making

Thermal Management Solutions Group can call upon not only designers and project managers, but also our team of experienced toolmakers. They manufacture and run die casting tools, delivering machining fixtures and tooling modifications, all fully sampled and submitted with dimensional reports – whatever the project.

Just one aspect of our in-house capability, we’ll work with you across the life of the project to achieve the best results. From conception to completion, if you have a toolmaking brief, we’re more than likely to be able to help you with it.

Plastic Injection Moulding

Thermal Management Solutions Group offers a varied range of plastic injection moulded assemblies for automotive and industrial applications.

Across the full spectrum of design, development and supply, we manufacture a wide-ranging set of powertrain components.

For non-standard assemblies, we use a range of injection mould presses up to 550T and ultrasonic, vibration or induction welding equipment for leak tight joining, these are complex assemblies made from high-strength, glass filled materials. They’re capable of operating consistently in high ambient under-bonnet environments – everything you could want and more.

Aluminium Die Casting

To optimise the die casting process for a part, we look at all aspects from all angles.

That means flow simulation of aluminium alloy casting carried out using finite elements, looking at heat-transfer problems and the process layout of a die casting system numerically, modelling the thermal behaviour during the metal-solidification, and designing and developing control systems which are ready and capable.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing doesn’t stop there at Thermal Management Solutions Group. We combine assembly with EOL testing, ISO-TS and conformity throughout. Combining our principles in lean manufacturing with an always-competitive value proposition, Thermal Management Solutions Group consistently provides the finest in engineering.

From low-run bespoke lines to high-end technology, these products and assemblies are created with the latest manufacturing equipment, robotics and automated production processes. It ensures our position in the global marketplace. But more importantly it ensures our customers’ expectations are only ever exceeded.

Quality control is core to all of our operations and is recognised both internally and externally. We deliver on-time, on-budget and with world-class performance each time.
