Wax Elements

A wax element is a simple negative feedback controller. The wax element operates as a sensor, controller and actuator in a closed control loop.

Overview

What are Wax Elements

Our wax elements are aimed at the automotive, housing and building markets, for coolant, gas-oil and oil regulation. We use different internal sealing technologies for our wax elements, including rubber bag and membrane seal. An external control device is unnecessary.

The self-regulating and low-cost linear actuator reacts to temperature.
The encapsulated paraffin-wax acts on a stainless-steel pin.
Our conventional and heated thermostats have an identical structure and a simple design.

Our wax elements are available as pure mechanical (self-regulating based on ambient temperature) and as electrical (reacting to ambient temperature and on an electric power supply).
